Bullish Celtic's manager insists he is not worried about dismissal yet supporters unleash wrath after derby defeat.

The under-pressure manager stated he had no concerns about losing his job, asserting, “We are very near to a turnaround,” even after edging perilously close to the chopping block with a comprehensive setback against Rangers.

A Second-Half Collapse Sees Derby Disaster

The home side were in front their oldest rivals at half-time but a second-half capitulation let Rangers to move level on points with the defending league title holders. The former MLS manager, who was hired in December, has now overseen six defeats in his first eight fixtures.

“There is unity at the club,” said the manager.

Questioned about the speculation, he said: “It’s not on my mind. My focus is on working out methods to aid my players to excel on details.

Protest Erupts

The fans made their feelings clear – directed at the dugout and directors – by protesting outside the stadium. The hierarchy are reportedly likely to return to the former boss, who steered the club during a temporary stint previously, should a change be made.

“The outcomes [that leads to pressure]. And that’s the truth for the moment. But by saying this is the reality, I am not saying that I am giving up. Absolutely not. What I mean we are on the cusp, extremely close to change the narrative.”

“Really, Really Close”

The coach continues to cling to the fact Celtic play well for 45 minutes at a time. Indeed, but for missed chances they could have been better than 1-0 up. “I saw enough other than the fact that we missed our chances,” he said. “I know that we lost, but I have also to be balanced.

“The performance we had at certain moments was exceptionally high. That happened. And I would not speak so positively if it was not the case. That is the reason, when it comes to wins, I noted this is the same story. For that reason I said that we are nearly there to getting it right. Right now: the fine margins.”

“There were a lot of encouraging signs that we did, like today again. However is sustaining it. My outlook would not be the same. Therefore I am a big believer we’re going to be able to fix this.”

Röhl’s Cautious Outlook

Danny Röhl played down talk of a serious challenge in spite of what seemed like a statement victory. “One match at a time, so we can really build up momentum,” he said. “The confidence in the squad is immense.”
