Jurgen Klopp, who departed from Anfield in 2024, indicated that a future comeback is a possibility. Klopp, following a hugely successful nine-year spell which brought a European Cup triumph and the Reds’ first league title in 30 years, now holds positions as head of global soccer within the Red Bull organization and providing guidance with the German Football League.
The club claimed England's top flight in the previous campaign, but many fans who adore the manager would embrace the possibility that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he explained to the podcast host: “I declared I will never coach a different club in England. Which implies in case it's my former club...yes. In theory, it could happen.”
“At 58 years old, so I could make the decision in a few years, it's uncertain. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, it's not necessary. I'll simply watch how things unfold.”
Questioned regarding the specific conditions would have to unfold to draw him back to the touchline, he confessed he isn't eager for a comeback. “I'm not entirely sure, My present work fulfills me,” he commented. “I don’t miss coaching; I avoid standing under bad weather for two-and-a-half or three hours; I'm glad to skip interviews multiple times weekly or constant media duties a week.
“No nostalgia for the changing area per se, yet sharing a meal alongside the squad enjoying conversation, I appreciate that. With many victories meaning regularly great spirits at the club. I can still hear Van Dijk's laughter vividly recalled as an instance.”
He commended for his successor, praising him for the tweaks which secured the championship last term. The team has suffered four consecutive matches across various tournaments following significant transfers, though he denied the notion of it representing a slump.
“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker such as Wirtz, critics will regret with negative comments. He’s an incredible talent. [Hugo] Ekitike, excellent performer. It’s a really good balanced team. You don’t have to worry about Liverpool, they will be fine.”
He shared movingly regarding the passing of the Portuguese star, whom he brought in while in charge, and its impact at the club. The forward lost his life in a road accident with his brother this past summer.
“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? It’s not about the player himself, his personality mattered. I can’t imagine the dressing room missing him. Putting it into words is tough on this topic. A devastating blow for the entire squad as well. No one within the club might employ it to justify results yet it's the reality. Being in that space which he filled completely. Dealing with that individually is not easy. Impossible.”
