Netflix Chooses Perfect Actor for Bentham in the Hit Series Third Season

The Secret Organization is poised to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the major clash won’t take place until the third season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has just been cast.

The streaming service revealed recently that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bon Clay. Bon Clay has the ability to morph into an perfect replica of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The performer, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that character re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag performer, in the live-action show, differing from the source material and cartoon version.

This performer joins multiple fresh additions tasked with bringing Baroque Works to reality, including leader the main antagonist, played by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the lineup as the ruler of the desert kingdom.

Although Bon Clay is a major member of the group, the persona will be introduced in One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this marks a notable change in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could suggest additional alterations to the narrative framework.

Their mix of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the role. Along with their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.

Netflix's live-action One Piece program is due to premiere for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
